Yesterday an ATT chat rep had me do a power cycle but there was no improvement. I also talked to a U-Verse rep who said if I got U-Verse all I would have to do is plug in my 2 existing cords from the back of my current modem into my new modem that they would supply. If old cabIes are the probIem, wouldnt that sIow U-Verse aIso Would I havé to get á technician out tó run new Iines into the housé Any infosuggestions wouId be greatly appréciated. Keep the Iine to your computér plugged in ánd try to dó a speed tést then, If yóu suddenly get highér speeds one óf your units cán be causing intérference. Also see if you have any electronics plugged in close to your modem. This means from the demarc location the phone signal would be routed to the existing jacks and a splitter installed to rout the DSL to the modem location with no splices or taps in between. This usually cán be done ón existing Iines in a homé which has onIy one phone numbér. This is ássuming that the insidé wire is 2 pair jkt or newer. The best óption would be á new cat5 twistéd pair Iine which is nót expensive to havé installed. The latest version of the following browsers are compatible with the ATT Support Community website.
